Kiosk Troubleshooting

Documents don't appear during check-in

No documents assigned to the site: The kiosk skips the document step entirely if no templates are assigned to the site. Check the site's document assignments in the admin dashboard.

Template cache not updated: If you recently added or changed templates, the kiosk may still have the old cache. Templates are refreshed every 15 minutes (default) or on WebSocket notification. Wait for the next refresh, or restart the kiosk (exit and re-enter kiosk mode).

Signature pad not responding

  • Verify the tablet's touchscreen is clean and responsive.
  • Try using a capacitive stylus instead of a finger.
  • If the signature pad appears but doesn't register input, try refreshing the page (exit kiosk mode via the hidden gesture, then re-enter).

Kiosk shows wrong site or wrong documents

The kiosk is bound to a specific site during setup. If it's showing the wrong site:

  1. Exit kiosk mode (triple-tap top-right corner).
  2. You'll see the setup screen — select the correct site.
  3. Re-enter kiosk mode.

WiFi credentials not shown after check-in

WiFi credentials are generated server-side. If the completion screen doesn't show credentials:

  • Kiosk was offline during check-in. The check-in was queued locally, but credentials require server processing. The visitor won't see credentials until the kiosk reconnects.
  • WLAN guest access not entitled. The license tier may not include WiFi provisioning. Credentials are only generated if wlan_guest_access is in the tenant's entitlements.
  • No Agent connected. Credentials are still generated and displayed even without an Agent, but if there's no Agent, the credentials won't authenticate on any network.

Kiosk performance is slow

  • Close other browser tabs on the tablet.
  • Ensure the tablet has sufficient free storage (for template caching and IndexedDB).
  • On older tablets, consider using a simpler (shorter) document template.
  • Check the tablet's network connection — slow API responses can make the check-in flow feel sluggish.
