Quick Start

This guide walks you through the essential steps to get Atrium operational: logging in, setting up your first site, and processing your first visitor. It assumes you're using the SaaS version and have received your admin credentials.

For self-hosted installations, complete the installation procedure first, then return here.

Step 1: Log in

Open your Atrium instance URL in a browser and log in with the admin credentials provided during setup.

  • Enter your tenant identifier (your organization's short name).
  • Enter your email and password.
  • Click Sign in.

You'll land on the Dashboard — the central visitor overview for your default site.

First login

After your first login, change your password immediately under your account settings. If your account was created by another admin, you may be prompted to set a new password automatically.

Step 2: Review your site

Your Atrium instance comes with an initial site already configured. Check that the basics are correct:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Sites in the sidebar.
  2. Click on your site to view its configuration.
  3. Verify the site name, timezone, and address are correct.
  4. Adjust settings if needed and save.

If you operate multiple locations, you can add additional sites later. See Managing Sites.

Step 3: Invite a visitor

Now let's create your first visit:

  1. Go to the Dashboard (click "Dashboard" in the sidebar or navigate to /dashboard).
  2. Click the New Visit button in the top-right area.
  3. Fill in the visitor's details in the dialog:
    • Email — The visitor's email address. If the visitor has been here before, their profile is auto-filled.
    • First Name and Last Name
    • Expected Arrival — Defaults to the next full hour.
    • Expected Departure — Defaults to two hours after arrival.
    • Optionally add a Purpose for the visit.
  4. Click Register Visit.

The visit appears in the Expected tab on the dashboard with a blue "Expected" badge. The visitor receives a pre-registration email with a QR code and visit details.

Step 4: Check in the visitor

When the visitor arrives, there are two ways to check them in:

Option A — From the dashboard (manual):

  1. Find the visit in the Expected tab.
  2. Open the row actions menu (⋯ button) and click Check In.
  3. A dialog shows the visitor's WLAN credentials (username, password, validity period) with copy buttons.
  4. Click Done. The visit moves to the On Site tab with a green "On Site" badge.

Option B — Via the kiosk (self-service): The visitor scans their QR code at a kiosk tablet. The kiosk guides them through document signing (if configured) and displays their WiFi credentials. See Kiosk Check-in Flow for the full walkthrough.

Step 5: Check out the visitor

When the visitor leaves:

  1. Find the visit in the On Site tab.
  2. Open the row actions menu (⋯) and click Check Out.
  3. Confirm the check-out in the dialog.

The visit moves to the Completed tab. If an Atrium Agent is connected, the visitor's active WiFi sessions are terminated automatically.

If the visitor doesn't check out manually, Atrium automatically expires the visit when the expected departure time passes.
